THIS WEBCAST HAS BEEN POSTPONED
On July 27, the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP) in co-sponsorship with the AOA Bureau of Hospitals is conducting a webcast for the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP) Certification program for Primary Stroke Centers. This certification program is available to all accredited hospitals, whether or not the facility is currently accredited by HFAP.
Stroke is the third leading cause of death in the United States after heart disease and cancer. According to the 2006 update of the American Heart Association’s Heart Disease and Stroke Statistics, nearly 1 in 15 deaths in 2003 were the result of stroke. Among the estimated 5.1 million stroke survivors, many are afflicted with serious, long-term disability. Hospitals that have established stroke centers have demonstrated improved treatment, better patient outcomes, and reduced care costs. They have the required infrastructure and written protocols in place to stabilize and provide rapid, optimal, and efficient care to acute stroke patients.
This free one-hour program will begin with a brief overview of the stroke certification program and move into a presentation of the certification requirements and how to prepare for survey from the surveyor’s perspective. A brief period for questions and answers will follow. If you have an existing stroke program or are considering the development of one, this webcast is for you!

Are you going to reschedule?
