The Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program is pleased to announce the release of the 2012 – 2013 Accreditation Manual for Ambulatory Surgical Centers. It is important to note that the only new requirements which have been added to the manual are those related to the CMS Condition for Coverage changes which went into effect on July 16, 2012. Changes in accreditation requirements in the 2012 – 2013 Accreditation Manual for Ambulatory Surgical Centers focused on assuring the incorporation of all CMS Conditions for Coverage and Standards. Due to the minimal nature of the changes made, the 2012 – 2013 Accreditation Manual for Ambulatory Surgical Centers will take effect beginning with surveys conducted on August 20, 2012.
It is our intent to have the 2012 – 2013 Accreditation Manual for Ambulatory Surgical Centers available in your facility portal, on-line by the beginning of November 2012. Your facility will receive notification as soon as the on-line publication process has been completed.
